"God has a wonderful plan for your life"

I’m as well guilty for misleading some unbelievers with this phrase “God has a wonderful plan for your life.”  I’m not saying that it’s bad to promise them a “wonderful life” (which we know, as Christians will come only when we’re already residing with Jesus in Heaven.) Truth be told, Unbelievers won’t and will never get that promise of a wonderful life in Heaven because of SIN, and if Christians neglect this truth when sharing the Gospel, we might lead false converts…

Just this week, I have read this book “God has a wonderful plan for your life” by Ray Comfort, our executive pastor passed on to us this book, and I’m glad he did… it totally opened my eyes about a lot of things…
I thought at first that this book got a lot of positivity with it (judging by its title cover of course.)  Only to find out, that it focuses about the reality that Christians need to think twice about using this phrase when leading someone to Christ…  Without the spiritual eyes opened, unbelievers would probably think that the “wonderful life” God promises is ALL about prosperity on earth. (Yes, God do promise us protection, prosperity, and blessings…but He also revealed to us that we will experience trials, temptations, and persecution…) that’s why when trials come their way, they tend to shy away from God because  they thought that Christianity is all about having the benefits of a prosperous life…

HERE’S THE TRUTH: If we do not realize our sins, in fact, WE ARE ALL SINNERS! (Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.)  If we do not realize that our sins DESERVE punishment, and that we deserve death in HELL ,( Romans 6:23a for the wages of sin is death…)….we won’t truly realize our need of a Savior… because the truth is… WE NEED A SAVIOR! We need someone who can offer us LIFE, because WE ARE HOPELESS! Right? From the time we were born our destination is eternal death in Hell! We need someone who can bail us out of the punishment we deserve… Who can do it for us?

…Jesus Christ can do it for us… the good news about Romans 6:23 is that it did not end with the word “death” (Romans 6:23b,…but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.) WE ARE HOPELESS….BUT JESUS CHRIST OFFERS US HOPE. Jesus offers us eternal life in Heaven. Do you want to receive that FREE GIFT? (I want to emphasize the word FREE, because we can’t do anything to earn the life He is giving… its absolutely FREE!)

To sum it all up, the Gospel is NOT about US living a “wonderful life” on earth… It’s about-- Jesus died on the cross to save us from the dreadful eternal death in Hell,(Remember its the punishment for our sins.) He rose again (He lives!) on the third day to show us that He conquered death for us... and because of His loving mercy we can  liberally accept the FREE GIFT that is, SALVATION to all who believes...  and hoping for the exceedingly “truly-wonderful Life” with God in the everlasting Heaven.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him (Jesus) shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV

God has me doing His Work at all times. Its a non stop work but a work of Joy. I love doing Gods Work even tho at times it can be very hard. Not many want to hear what God has to say anymore. So i know that the days are closer and Gods Son will soon come and take us home :)

Amen! You put this so perfectly! ...it's very easy to 'convert' someone when you're offering them a great life with no worries, but like you said...that's not true until we're in heaven!

Basically true.

This life is tainted in sin.

The next life shall not be.
